Blog Your Blessings : Women

International Women's Day (IWD) is March 8, 2009. IWD is now an official holiday in many countries. However, women are still not equal to men in many areas of life. So make a difference, think globally and act locally!

Write your thoughts about IWD on your blog on March 8, 2009. Register at BloggersUnite (new site!) so that you may share your post with other members of Bloggers Unite.
The International Women's Day website provides a free service to women and organizations around the world wanting to share and promote their IWD activity, videos, opinions and ideas.

The theme this year is: 2009: Women and men united to end violence against women and girls. Everyone is welcome!

Cool thing. Important to think about. It boggles the mind that half the world is an underclass of sorts. Yet we make the whole world happen.

IWD is a great day to think hard on those areas where equality has yet to take root. Thanks for sharing the link and blog!

The deep discrimination against women in all spheres weakens society as a whole. It is therefore crucial promote gender equality from the cradle, avoiding any form of discrimination that have makes women had a less significant role than their "self chosen" counterparts..

Some people argue that one really dies not require a women's day because women are considered equal to men. But the fact is that the discrimination against women across the world for the past so many years is evident that the liberation and the freedom needs to be celebrated now and yes, I agree that there should be a international world holiday for the same.
