Blog Your Blessing : Heart of Earth Songs

I love moving water. We camped for three weeks at Medina Lake. The river recharges my psyche and soothes my worries. I usually do not want to come back home after a stay at the river. Is there a specific waterway that calls to you? Or. are you like the mole below--any river will do?

~From The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham~
He thought his happiness was complete when, as he meandered aimlessly along, suddenly he stood by the edge of a full-fed river. Never in his life had he seen a river before -- this sleek, sinuous, full-bodied animal, chasing and chuckling, gripping things with a gurgle and leaving them with a laugh, to fling itself on fresh playmates that shook themselves free, and were caught and held again. All as a-shake and a-shiver -- glints and gleams and sparkles, rustle and swirl, chatter and bubble.

The Mole was bewitched, entranced, fascinated. By the side of the river he trotted as one trots, when very small, by the side of a man who holds one spellbound by exciting stories; and when tired at last, he sat on the bank, while the river still chattered on to him, a babbling procession of the best stories in the world, sent from the heart of the earth to be told at last to the insatiable sea.

Beautiful photo! YES, I love the water, especially the Pacific Ocean but sicne I can't get to it often, I ahve to be content with the Columbia River which empties into it. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation and even tho you had to leave and rturn home, you can return in the future and make soem more memories!

I think I am like your mole --- just about any flowing water calls to me. Its something akin to how people can watch a campfire endlessly, so I can watch a stream flowing over rocks or a waterfall.
