The American outdoors has been central to some of this country's greatest books, from Henry David Thoreau's The Maine Woods to Mark Twain's Life on the Mississippi. Writers like Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Muir, Rachel Carson, Peter Matthiessen, and E.O. Wilson have inspired us to make positive changes in our lives with their wisdom and words about our lands, geographical riches, and wildlife.
Now, it is time for the next generation of writers to inspire the people of the world to fight global warming--in all its forms.

That is a blessing. There is a worthy history of caring in this country. The beautiful, sensitive, and creative have been championing the same cause for a long time. May this tradition continue and may it have effect.

Having a legacy to leave is a blessing indeed! Thanks to those who do care and hopefully, they will influence more also.

I think that is very necessary that the more people talk about the fight against global warming in order to raise awareness of people about it. This is the only way to inform people and understand what they should do.

I often find the outdoors a spiritual experience as well as one of beauty. It is indeed something worth preserving.
