Earth Teach Me to Remember
by John Yellow Lark
Earth teach me stillness
as the grasses are stilled with light.
Earth teach me suffering
as old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach me humility
as blossoms are humble with beginning.
Earth Teach me caring
as the mother who secures her young.
Earth teach me courage
as the tree which stands alone.
Earth teach me limitation
as the ant which crawls on the ground.
Earth teach me freedom
as the eagle which soars in the sky.
Earth teach me resignation
as the leaves which die in the fall.
Earth teach me regeneration
as the seed which rises in the spring.
Earth teach me to forget myself
as melted snow forgets its life.
Earth teach me to remember kindness
as dry fields weep in the rain.

Earth and Nature have alot to teach us, if only we would be ready to learn from them.
Have a great week ahead.

No other people can honor the earth with more beautiful words than the native peoples of each land. Thankfully, their words are now slowly being heeded by many around the globe.
@janie-thanks for visiting. They still make Earth shoes, I wear them.
@whatever-I thought you were being way too hard on yourself in your post.
@neo-You are welcome. I wish I had an award worth money to give you. LOL
@sandy-May next week be better for you. I am glad my post brought you comfort.
@dana-Thanks! Glad you stopped by this Sunday.
@manillamom-We could learn much by listening to the first people of each land.
