Gap Logo Change Stirs up Controversy

Gap Says New Logo Is Real, Not a Social-Media Experiment - Advertising Age - News

New Gap Logo

People hate the new Gap logo. I do not like it, but I do not HATE it. However, some of the commenters on the post at Advertising Age had some strong feelings against it. One commenter put up a site called CrapLogo.me where you can make your own crap logo. See mine below.
My Crap Logo

I am always amazed at the creativity of people on the Internet. I am going to get some expert advice on the GAP logo. I will be back. In the meantime, sound off with your opinion.

I think that the new logo is fine. It doesn't blow me away, but it is better than the old one.

Some things are better left unchanged, such as the coca-cola glass bottle, big mac, tiffany blue, lacoste's crocodile...etc.

Is it really the new Gap Logo? I think the old Gap logo is still the best because it has classic design and hence became remarkable to people and has established its name.

theres always been enoght controversy about logos. do they have a hidden message that theyre trying to sneak into our subconsious minds? or is it just an empty try to relanunch with a new-fresh renovated image. the logo is the representative of the company, i guess if they change theyre pop-icon logo, a whole reestructuration will come with it as well.

Interesting. My kids and grandchildren love Gap clothes so I'm very familiar with their stores and their logo. I had heard about the brou-ha-ha over the logo change and that Gap had decided NOT to make the change because of the negative feedback but the article I read didn't show the new logo so I appreciated your showing it. Personally, I didn't think it was so bad but why fix what's not broken. :)
