Blog Your Blessings : Lakes

Stubblefield Lake, Sam Houston National Forest, TexasStubblefield Lake in Sam Houston National Forest

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature.
It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder
measures the depth of his own nature.

~Henry David Thoreau~

Stubblefield Lake is an oxbow lake that was separated from Lake Conroe by the wanderings of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. It is quiet and peaceful, just as it is unexpected only miles away from the Stubblefield oil field.

Is there anything about likes or this particular lake that makes it special for you?

When I look at this picture, it seems like the like is full of life --- lilypads, surrounded by trees, etc. AT the same time it appears peaceful.

That is an AMAZING picture. I am from CA and you don't get a lot of beautiful shots like that. Looks very peaceful...

Mmm... wow! Looks so peaceful and serene. I would love to stroll along the banks of this lake (as long as there are no snakes) Hehe... Sorry just came from a blog post about snakes.

Anyway, I wasn't able to do some bloghopping these past few days and I missed out on BYBS sniif* But thanks for the comment on my blog! If you do add a "Follow me" widget, please tell me I'd be happy to follow you as well!
