Blog Your Blessing : War No More

Every culture on Earth has a prayer for peace.

Why is peace so hard to achieve?

War no more.

Peace.

Jewish Prayer for Peace

Come let us go up the mountain of the Lord,

that we may walk the paths of the Most High.

And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares,

and our spears into pruning hooks.

Nation shall not lift up sword against nation--

neither shall they learn war any more.

And none shall be afraid, for the mouth of the

Lord of Hosts has spoken.

Why is peace so difficult to achieve? I think the profiteers bully us into submission. This is a wonderful prayer. I like it because it is first-person plural, reminding us that peace is a group project.

Happy BYB Sunday.

Too bad the whole Christmastime "peace on earth, goodwill to all people" thing doesn't carry over.

Pray for peace daily, Happy BYBS.

That's a good question.

Everyone wants peace and yet it is one thing that is missing from our lives.

I wonder why?

Have a peaceful week ahead.

if only, eh? too bad there isn't more money in flowers and hugs vs bombs and guns.

Happy New Year!

It is said by wise ones that peace begins within and then ripples out. Perhaps more of us need to find our own inner peace? Happy BYB Sunday!

Whatever said...

That's one of the (many) things that make no sense to me --- why there are still wars and armed conflict. The thing is, we're better than that, smarter too. It just makes no sense.

Well, if I was talking to my Sunday School class, the answer would be obvious. . . sin.

And if we all kept Christmas in our hearts all year, there would be more "peace on earth." Instead we are selfish and put ourselves before others.

End of sermon!

It's interesting... my post is about soldiers who stopped an invader... and I still completely agree with this post in that war is the most pointless and least productive thing humans can do.

@sandy-It is a group project and we need a new leader. LOL

@hotdogman-It should be year round, but it is not.

@neo-something about the heart of darkness in man?

@oti-Can't get much oil with flowers and hugs, I guess.

@kuanyin-I am searching, but I do not think many world leaders are.

@whatever-You are so right. We keep making the same mistakes over and over.

@paulie-Do you truly think so? I think it is evil in the hearts of some.

@matthew-We seem to have competing and complimenting posts quite often. Your was wonderful.

@cajuns-Thanks for adding your prayers and blessings to ours.
