Sustainability and Advertising

As a citizen of the Earth, I am always on the lookout for new companies that, in addition to the bottom line, want to make the Earth a better place or at least not damage it further. Thos.Baker premium teak outdoor furniture is such a company.

On the front page of the Thos.Baker website is an explanation of their sustainable harvest procedures, which are overseen by an Indonesian government agency tasked with preserving this natural resource. The teak furniture is gorgeous and I feel better buying from an ecologically aware company, such as the sponsor of this post.

Teak is resistant to rot, warping, shrinkage and swelling, and the natural teak oil preserves the wood so it can be left outdoors indefinitely. In fact, many parks in England are furnished with teak benches nearly a century old.

Thanks for the scoop. Better than having kids sitting on that pressure treated, poison-soaked wood that's everywhere these days!
