Blog Your Blessing : A Quiet Place

Make in my heart a quiet place

by John Oxenham

'Mid all the traffic of the ways-
Turmoils without, within-
Make in my heart a quiet place,
And come and dwell therein:

A little shrine of quietness,
All sacred to Thyself,
Where Thou shalt all my soul possess,
And I may find myself;

A little shelter from life's stress,
Where I may lay me prone,
And bare my soul in loneliness,
And know as I am known;

A little place of mystic grace,
Of self and sin swept bare,
Where I may look upon Thy face,
And talk with Thee in prayer.

Amen

A perfect prayer and as Sue says, a lovely image to bring the point closer to home. Excellent BYB posting!

In our busy and noisy lives, a quiet place is something we all need and if we can find that in our hearts- nothing better!

Have a great week ahead!

Oh yes! We all need this kind of quiet time with HIM. Before the photo downloaded, I thought maybe you had a bench with a view of flowers. . . guess that was just all in my own mind since that is how I picture a quiet place.
